DayStruck Privacy Policy

DayStruck is operated by GRAXION LLC ("GRAXION," "we," "us"). DayStruck pairs one adult with one other adult somewhere in the United States for a single 24-hour day of conversation. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it — including the part that makes DayStruck different: when a day ends, the other person's messages and photos dissolve.

1. Adults only

DayStruck is for people 18 and older, in the United States. We ask for your date of birth at signup to verify that. If the date of birth shows someone under 18, the account is not created and the signup is deleted.

2. What we collect

Account information

• Email address (for sign-in)
• Date of birth (to verify 18+; never shown to other users)
• A display name you choose (a real name is never required)
• Your home state and time zone (state level only — we never collect or use precise location)

Your day activity

• Your place wishes and up to three "sameness threads" you pick for matching
• Messages, photos, and voice content you send during a day, and video call metadata (when video is used)
• Your check-ins, Keep decisions, and whether a match was completed

Your keepsakes

• After a day, your keepsake is a card — the date, your friend's state, the connecting thread — plus any private note you write. That is all we keep. It does not include the other person's messages or photos.

Safety information

• Reports you file, blocks you set, and moderation actions on your account
• If a report is filed, a minimized copy of the relevant record is frozen for safety review (see Section 5)

Technical information

• Basic service logs (timestamps, device/app version, error data) needed to run and secure the service

Waitlist

• If you joined the waitlist on daystruck.com, we hold that email address to send one launch email. Nothing else.

3. How we use it

• To run the pairing: matching you for a day, delivering messages, and enforcing the 24-hour window
• To keep people safe: age verification, report review, blocking, and moderation
• To operate and improve the service, and to communicate with you about your account
• We do not sell your personal information. We do not run advertising, and DayStruck has no ad trackers.

4. The dissolution promise

When a 24-hour day ends:

• If both people press Keep, the contact and its conversation continue by mutual choice.
• Otherwise, the other person's messages and photos are deleted from our active systems and cannot be recovered, searched, or restored. There is no profile to look up and no way back to a dissolved day.

Backup copies may persist briefly after deletion as part of normal system backups and are then overwritten.

5. Safety retention (the one exception)

If a day is reported, we freeze a minimized copy of the relevant record so it can be reviewed. Frozen records are:

• Used only for safety review, moderation decisions, and legal duties (including required reports to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children)
• Kept for 90 days, then deleted
• Never used for advertising, matching, or anything else

6. Who we share with

Only the services that make DayStruck run, and only what they need:

• Supabase — database and sign-in hosting
• Cloudflare — website and API hosting
• LiveKit — video calling, when video is used
• Apple / Google — app distribution and sign-in, if you use them

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. We do not share your information with data brokers or advertisers.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app at any time. Deletion removes your profile, your keepsakes, your day history, and your sign-in. Frozen safety records described in Section 5 are kept until their 90-day period ends, then deleted. Waitlist emails can be removed by emailing hello@daystruck.com.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit, access controls, and per-product isolated systems (DayStruck's data is stored separately from every other GRAXION product). No system is perfect; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

9. Your choices

• Use a display name instead of your real name — always allowed
• Skip the optional sameness threads — matching still works
• Block anyone, at any time, for any reason; blocked people are never matched with you again
• Delete your account and data as described above

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update this page and note the new date before the change takes effect.
